Is it a tank? No. Is it a soldier? No. Is it a gun? No. Is it a bird? No. Is it a plane? Yes. It's a World War I Sopwith Camel, with WWI Sopwith Camel pilots. You'll also get a sample SP and MP mission when you download it from BIS' download page. You'll need OFP version 1.90 or above to toy with it.
Nothing much - just a few fixes:

==================================1.91 - Fixed: When MP mission was played after resistance campaign, weapon pool was available in MP.
1.91 - New: New scripting function typeOf <object>.

If you have Red Hammer and you haven't previously installed the version 1.90 Red Hammer compatibility patch, you can still do so after upgrading to OFP version 1.91. The same holds true for the 1985 Cold War Crisis campaign update previously released for version 1.90. You can download both of these from BIS' OFP downloads page.
BIS says this latest version should fix server freeze errors that occurred during HTTP downloads. You can download version 1.90F beat from here.
Someone over at Virtual Battlefield Systems finally decided to add some content to their site - especially a whole new assortment of screen pics. Worth taking a look at, if you ask me. More information about VBS1 can be found in this FAQ item, as well.
Pay attention, soldiers, because a whole lotta patches came out in the last few days. Here's a list:

So said Ondrej Spanel, BIS' lead OFP programmer, on November 7. Expect the upgrades to be available within a few weeks.
I've been busy preparing for the winter. Take a look. I hope you like what you see.

HOT NEWS: BIS is working on the problems introduced by the Resistance 1.85 upgrade patch. (updated October 21, 2002)
The latest 1.85 upgrade patch has been out for just two days now and there is a steady stream of good and bad feedback from the player community. Most of the major problems have to do with multiplayer difficulties. BIS' OFP project leader, Marek Spanel, issued the following statement today:
We apologize to all people experiencing issues with 1.85. This version is another huge step forward for Operation Flashpoint and we've been working on it since OFP: Resistance was finished. It opens many new options to the community, including Linux server support (currently at beta stage) and some very powerful new features for editing. Due to the complexity of the game and the content used in it, we couldn't avoid some new problems.
We're trying to investigate and fix all such problems as soon as possible. Some of them are very difficult to reproduce, also because of large amount of unofficial addons.
We focus mainly on:
- reported problems with desync or lag in multiplayer games in comparison to 1.75 (problem resolved by installing the version 1.88 beta dedicated standalone server)
- empty mission list on some dedicated servers (problem resolved by installing the version 1.88 beta dedicated standalone server)
- compatibility problems in some campaigns
We'll keep you updated in this topic about all news related to patch 1.85.

HOT NEWS: The All Seeing Eye (ASE) now supports OFP: Resistance. (added September 29, 2002)
Had enough of using Gamespy's heavy ad-filled interface to play MP games? ASE has finally added formal support for OFP: Resistance. Read about it in this FAQ item.
The walkthrough for OFP: Resistance, by Pynaple, was previously hosted by now extinct site OFP Insider. Pynaple has graciously accepted my request to have the walkthrough hosted safe and sound here at The FAQ from now on.
It's still a work in progress but Pynaple is slaving away to complete the rest. So if you've started the Resistance campaign and are taking a beating, sneak a peek!
No, no. My mother (bless her) knows nothing about computers or OFP. MOM stands for Mission Of the Moment, a new mission review page I've just started here at The FAQ. Have a look!
The player community has been waiting for months for this addon. Read all about it in this FAQ item.
Codemasters announced that, this autumn, they will be combining OFP's original version, Codemasters' Red Hammer campaign and OFP: Resistance into one package, called the Game Of The Year edition.
Additional information can be found on Codemasters' OFP Page.
According to BIS' lead programmer, Ondrej Spanel, it's just a matter of weeks. Hold your horses.
Actually, that's sad news, not hot news. That's OK. We had a wonderful family holiday in the US and in Canada.
Many of you emailed me during my absence with ideas for new FAQ items or corrections and additions to existing ones. Thank you. My inbox is backed up and it will take me a while to sort your posts out and update The FAQ. Keep those cards and letters coming, folks!
A lot of people also emailed me with their technical problems (OFP ones, not personal ones), including one that claimed that Codemasters told them to contact me for support (this is not the first time).
I can only reiterate what it already says on The FAQ's contact page: If you have a question about OFP or PCs or Windows that needs to be answered, then please check The FAQ itself and/or ask your questions on the forums. I can no longer answer questions that are being emailed to me as I do not have the time to deal with them as well as compile The FAQ. For those of you that got nasty with my responses to look elsewhere, you've been added to my email kill list - toodallo!
From what I've read on the forums, it should be available down under from July 10.
It's a Soviet KA-50 (V-80) chopper. The KA-50 made its first flight on July 27, 1982. It was nicknamed the Hokum by NATO and is known as a Black Shark in Russia.
I'm starting to add items to The FAQ for OFP: Resistance. Might as well start now because it's going to be overwhelming very soon, when Resistance hits the stores.
Have a look at the Resistance FAQ items that I've compiled so far. I'm sure there are mistakes to be found there. If you see any or if you think you've got an item to be added, let me hear from you.
OFP: Resistance was originally supposed to be released on June 21, 2002. Some time ago, Codemasters announced that the official release date was pushed off by a week, to June 28.
Now, online software retailers in North America are showing availability dates in early or mid-July. For example, Amazon.com now shows the release date as being July 11. So far, European retailers, such as Amazon.UK, are still showing the June 28 release date.
Who knows? Well, Codemasters does. On June 25, they sent out an email that stated that OFP: Resistance's European release date is still June 28 but that the North American release date has been postponed until July 2.
The long awaited unofficial terrain editing utility, WrpEdit, is finally out! Read more about it on this FAQ item.
If you've already installed MP version 1.55, 1.58 or 1.59 beta, delete it completely and download and install version 1.60 MP and dedicated standalone server beta instead.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: According to Ondrej Spanel, BIS' Lead OFP Programmer , OFP MP version 1.60 beta (just as with 1.58 and 1.59 beta) now uses UDP port 2302 by default. This should resolve some compatibility problems when running with Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) or future versions of DirectX, as port 2234, used by OFP's DirectPlay netcode, is reserved for use by Microsoft. Also, the default query port is now 2303 (UDP and possibly TCP). If an OFP server host selects a different port for his/her server, the query port used is the selected server port number plus one. You'll also need to open up UDP port 2314.

The new MP socket-based code is being incorporated into the OFP: Resistance expansion pack. Keep in mind that this is all beta code. You can download MP 1.55 beta from one of these locations:
To run the test version program as a dedicated server, you'll need to specify the "-server" command line parameter and you must have the orginal CD in the drive.

I have updated the download mirror links on all of the FAQ's pages for Avon mission packs. Here's a handy list of the packs that are currently available:
If you still cannot download any of my mission packs, the only alternative is for me to burn a CD with the packs on it (total of 156MBs of files). If there are enough of you that want this and are willing to cough up around US$10 per CD (price is not final), just let me know and I'll see what I can do to arrange that.
A month and a half from now will mark a year since OFP's first demo version captured our gaming admiration. The pioneer master mission makers back then produced some amazingly high caliber missions that have become lost in time. Not any more. I've dug them up for you. Read on.

Completed the 1985 Cold War Crisis and Red Hammer campaigns and want more but don't want to pay for them?
You're just in time! User-made campaigns are becoming available. Check The FAQ's campaigns item for the details.
Due to the CPU utilization limits of The FAQ's WEB site account, I regret to announce that The FAQ must unfortunately discontinue hosting and mirroring large files.
The FAQ's account limits were exceeded when the Ultimate Upgrade 4 patch was mirrored here. It basically caused the FAQ's shutdown of a number of days.
Should Codemasters or BIS decide to cover the whopping US$200 to US$250 annual cost it takes to maintain an appropriate WEB hosting account for such purposes, I will be more than happy to reinstate these and more files in the future. Sorry.
